Memorial

Lawrence R. Kos, 71, 2107 E Ave NE died Monday, April 14, 2008 at his home following a brief illness. Memorial Services: 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Mark Osterhaus of St. Matthews Catholic Church will officiate.
Surviving in addition to his wife Corriene are a daughter, Gayle Kos of Cedar Rapids; a son, Michael Kos of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Leon Kos of Clutier; and two special friends, Don and Fanny Aldrich of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Virgil Kos and Jerald Kos; and two sisters, Pauline Herrink and Shirley Robinson.
Lawrence was born January 28, 1937 in Clutier the son of Joseph and Lillian Soytyn Kos. He married Corriene K. Long on September 7, 1968 in Cedar Rapids. Lawrence was a machinist for Universal Engineering for several years. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
