Ruth I was so saddened to read about Warren in todays paper. I hadn't even known he had been sick. Since being retired I don't ever hear much from Mercy. I have so many fond memories of Warren and a lot of fun ones too. I know he will be dearly missed. But I know that all the great memories I have of him and the time we worked together are just a blink away. You and your family have our deepest sympathies. Maureen and John Kiesel

Dear Tony and family, Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time. It is impossible to prepare for the full impact of a loss under any circumstance. Your family had a tremendous challenge and opportunity over the past few months. Your father was very special to so many people. He will be missed greatly. I know I had such pleasant conversations with him at your family functions and will remember him fondly as a man of compassion and of love for family. To the family of Warren Rogers: I came to know Warren when I became active in the Iowa Physical Therapy Association. I found him to be one of the leaders of that organization and a strong advocate for the physical therapy profession and the people we serve. He was an inspiration to me and I am sure many others as well. Warren was a true professional and represented himself and the physical therapy world in the best possible way. I am proud to have known him as a friend and a colleague. Not only a great physical therapist--a great guy!!!

Warren, Going On Ahead It is in an effort of reflection over many years since we last saw each other that I wish it had not been so long ago, or that they could have been more frequent, the visits. Yet even so, fond are my thoughts of your smile and warm are the memories of your manor. We enjoy reflecting on your life, on who you were, on who you still are in our thoughts. Thank you. You have, now, gone on ahead...a bit early for those of us following...but there, we shall have time for the missed visits and too few conversations. With loving memory.

Hi Ruth, Andy, Mindy and Tony, Thoughts and prayers have been with you and Warren these many months. Maria Cook called to let me know of his passing. What a gracious man Warren was. I remember introducing him to the PT Dept at Mercy when he was hired. The woman who was the Director of PT ahead of Warren did not want a man to replace her so she simply left. Warren laughed at that story when we met and we have been friends ever since even though we haven't seen each other often. It's always been fun when we've met to chat about our families instead of PT our kids are all about the same age; although, we both loved the profession, family was most important. Warren...the deeply compassionate man. You all must be proud of such a person as he. God's blessings to you, Ruth, and your family.

Mindy, Ruth and Family: I am very sorry for your loss and you are in my thoughts and prayers. While I knew Warren briefly, his kindness, love and humor were obvious. Warren was recovering from hospitalization when my Dad died last fall and he was the last person we expected to see at the wake. But there he was full of life and kind things to say about my Dad and not wanting any attention on himself. He made a big difference and I felt the presence of the Lord in him. Love,

Dear Ruth and Family, I was saddend to hear of Warren's death. I also worked at Mercy for 30+ years and always found Warren to be so personable. He certainly personified the Mercy philosophy. When I retired from Mercy I started doing some part-time work at the Oncology Associates Lab and visited with Warren again. He certainly enjoyed the golf expeditions sharing them with staff. I know he will be missed by many in the CR community. I shall remember you in my prayers.

Ruth, Tony, Michelle, Grady, CJ, Cooper, and the rest of the family, We were so sorry and saddened to hear about Warren's passing. We were privileged to meet Warren and Ruth during their many visits to Tony and Michelle's when they lived nearby. I was saddened to here of Warren's passing. I was one of the many people's lives Warren touched through the PT department at Mercy. Dear Ruth, Words are all we have to express our sympathy -- and while they "say" the right things, they don't always "feel" what we want to say. We share the grief your family feels, and the sorrow that Warren's friends in the MHS Class of '61 feel. As another "MHS couple," we both feel and fear your loss. What a wonderful gentle man you have lost -- but what special memories you have. God bless your family.

Ruth, Andy, Mindy and Tony, I have many memories of the Rogers family. We had some great times together. What I was remembering as I thought of Warren were the times we played golf or tennis. One of the joys of those times was the ride in the MG to wherever we were going. That car put the bug in me and I have always wanted one too. In my memory as well were the Halloween nights when the Roger's home had those sounds coming from the front room. Then there are also those snow storms when we went outside and shoved for hours and then got wise and bought that snow thrower to make our lives better. The best memory, however, was his smile and positive attitude. What a privilege to count him as a friend. I look forward to a great reunion someday. God bless you all. Jim Simon, a previous neighbor and friend.

Dear Ruth and Family, We were sad to hear that Warren had passed on, but he now is in a wonderfull place with God. I have known Warren since Aaron Palmer grade school. We both had Des Moines Register paper routes. I would sub. for Warren sometimes. I also recall a trip that Warren and Janet and I took to a church camp at clear lake. We went swimming even tho the water was ice cool and we all went to the surf ballroom and danced to rock and roll. I so enjoyed getting to know the two of you on our Wartburg Alumni tour. What a gracious, affirming person. I count it a blessing that we crossed paths, even for such a brief time. I will always remember the depth of friendship you enjoyed as a Cedar Rapids/Iowa City group. You brightened our entire trip! I'm sure that there are literally thousands of people whose lives have been positively impacted by Warren, both through his many professional and his personal contacts. May God embrace you all in this time of grief, giving you comfort and hope in the midst of sorrow. I was pleased to see that one of my former students, Perry Fruhlilng, is serving as your pastor.
