David Thomas Lloyd was born October 10, 1981 in Tacoma, WA the beloved son of Thomas Nathaniel and Cheryl Lynn McAfee Lloyd. He was a 2000 graduate of Ankeny High School, where he was involved in soccer, tennis, wrestling, marching band, choral music and swimming. His senior year he won a gold medal at the state finals with his swimming relay team. Following graduation Dave joined the US Army Reserve and served one tour of duty in Iraq driving convoys. After re-enlisting, he was scheduled for leadership training and had volunteered for further deployment to serve his country. Dave was well known for his strong faith in Jesus, and was willing to discuss his faith. He will forever be remembered for his outgoing and gregarious personality. He was a man who made friends easily, and was fiercely loyal to those whom he called FRIEND. He greatly enjoyed playing Frisbee golf, and cooking at Red Robin. Above all he truly enjoyed his time spent with his family; he was always willing to play with his niece and nephews. He will be so greatly missed by those who loved him and by those whose lives he touched with his smile, conversations, love of life, and just what a day could bring along. We will meet you again in our heavenly home.
