Memorial
William C. "Bill" Linn, 87, a resident of Crestview Acres Care Center in Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died there Saturday, March 8, 2008, following a long illness. Services with military honors at 11 AM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Kent Leydens of Calvin Sinclair Presbyterian Church will officiate. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral home from 4 to 7 PM on Monday and at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Tuesday.
Survivors include three children Debra Benfer of Marion, John fiance' Diana Gallo of Austin, Texas, and Daniel wife Lori Gallo of Springville, Iowa, five grandchildren, Mitchell, Rick, Chris, Dillon, and Sean. He was preceded in death by his wife, and a son Jamie Gallo.
William was born March 29, 1920, in Glenwood, Iowa. He was a WW II US Army Veteran. He married Willa Mae Gallo on May 5, 1972 in Cedar Rapids. He worked for the Traffic Engineer Department for the City of Cedar Rapids for 19 years. He was a member of Calvin Sinclair Presbyterian Church and an avid Golfer.
Special thanks to the caring staff at Crestview Acres Care Center for their loving care of "grandpa".
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Military honors by VFW Post #788.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
