Memorial
Elmer Wesley Divis, 80, of 1725 2nd Avenue, Marion, passed away at his home and went to be with his Lord, Monday, February 25, 2008, after a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Marion by the Rev. Randy Bobzien. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Pat; three children, Cindy Andrews of Shellsburg, Shelly Rob Kolosik and Eric Stacy Divis, all of Marion; three half-brothers, Pat Wheeler of MO, David Barker of Maine, and Terry Lee Barker of Cedar Rapids; three half-sisters, Joan Lee Hartson and Carol Manos, both of Cedar Rapids, and Lavonne Wood of Illinois; six grandchildren, Lisa Ryan, Tina, Erin, Brandon, Jen, and Shawn; and his special friend, Buster.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; a half-brother, Dick Barker, and a son, John Wesley.
Elmer was born on June 12, 1927 in Ft. Collins, CO to John and Mary Ann Boyer Divis and was raised by his grandparents, Elmer and Bertha Boyer. He worked at Iowa Manufacturing for over 40 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
