Dear Sharon and family, Please accept our condolences. The quickness of Steve's condition was quite amazing, such a shock. Even though we didn't know Steve very well, he made us feel so welcome at your Christmas event a few years ago. We had such a wonderful time . Sharon, I do miss the hugs at Church that turned into morning hugs while we were at Linn-Mar. I wish I could share a couple with you now. We are sorry we can't be with you during this time as we are leaving town early on February 22. In our felt symapthy, Steve and Deb Streff

It was a pleasure to have known and worked with you for many years. Your humor and smile as well as your hospitality are your dinstinguishing characteristics which epitomize who you are. I was impressed by your interest that went beyond work. You were interested in how our family was and how the kids were and listened intently. You were never shy to offer help and often would offer your home to catch a Cyclone b-ball game on the TV. My sympathy and condolences to your family as they mourn, honor, and celebrate a man's life that reached so many.

Dearest Sharon and Family: Cruisin' For Camp Courageous will never be the same without Steve's smiling face greeting and working the show. Steve touched more lives than he would have ever realized...he certainly was a big part of the growth and success of Camp Courageous over the years...he will be dearly missed... We are fortunate in life when we can meet a person that it is a true joy to share your life with. You and Steve seemed to glow with that type of relationship. You were a couple we all looked-up to and admired. I feel so fortunate my path crossed that of Steve Davis. I am a better person today, because of it. Take care... Charlie

It was with great sadness that I read about Steve's passing. We knew each other in high school and I kept a distant eye on his life through mutual friends. I will always remember his smile and sense of humor and good times in band. I will be thinking of you, dear Davis family, and pray that you are strengthened and comforted by the many prayers that are sent to hold you up at this difficult time. Peace, Marie Von Behren

Our hearts are broken and sad as we say good-bye for awhile to such a dear and special friend. Even though we wanted Steve to stay with us forever we know he is now in a better place and free of the challenges he faced with his illness. Steve had the ability to bring a ray of sunshine to everyone and everyday. His smile and sense of humor brightened up every situation and everyone that met Steve found him to be their friend. It seemed he had a never-ending sense of energy and God must have known that Steve had to pack all of life in 58 years so he had little time for rest! He could bike the steepest hill faster than anyone and still had the energy to give a "gentle lift" to the slower in life. He was never too tired to meet a new friend, help someone in need or offer an encouraging word. We have missed and will continue to miss Steve on our bike trips. He always seemed to capture the moments that most of us missed! As we reflect on Steve's life we can liken it to his biking experience - his helmet kept him safe just as God protected him in life - his bike not only allowed him a new adventure but gave him the freedom to see more of God's great country in a special way - his brakes allowed him to slow down and enjoy the trip of life - his gears shifted as he needed to adjust to whatever life presented him - the spokes on his tires represent the many ways he impacted so many lives. We know the wheels of Steve's bike are not turning today but we know the spokes he built in the lives of all of us will be with us forever. We know Steve is bikin' with the angels today and imagine his first words at heaven's gate were "on your left"! We will truly miss a wonderful biker and friend but also know we have been richly blessed with his friendship. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family in the days ahead.

We were sorry to hear about Steve and it must be a difficult time for you. Knowing Steve when we worked together in 'write-up' with all the guys was the best time, we were all starting out, good friends, playing cards and Little Bo. I remember the first little house you two had in Marshalltown.
