Memorial

A Service of Remembrance to celebrate the life of Steven Robert Davis, 58, of Marion will be held at First United Methodist Church in Marion on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. The Rev. Michael Morgan will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday from 5PM to 8PM. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. He had a long time illness of ALS.

Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon are his children, Brian Davis and Christine Davis and his grandson, Dylan all of Cedar Rapids; his mother and father, Robert and Dorothy Davis of Marion; his sister, Nancy Mulford and brother-in-law Dennis Mulford of Anamosa; his niece, Sara Mulford of Leavenworth, Kansas; and nephew, Tim Mulford and wife Mika of Columbia, MO.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Steve was born January 1, 1950 in Dubuque, the son of Robert Laurence and Dorothy Helen Klaus Davis. He was united in marriage to Sharon Ann Weuve on June 22, 1974 in State Center. He graduated from Lincoln Stanwood High School in 1968, and from Iowa State University with an Associates Degree in mechanical engineering in 1970. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, NJ with a Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering in June, 1986. He worked for Control Associates, Tenafly, NJ from 1975 until 1991 and then came to the Duane Arnold Energy Center from 1991 until his retirement in 2006. Steve was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marion, the Cedar Valley Street Rods, Hawkeye Bicycle Association in Cedar Rapids, and the Optimists Club in Bergenfield, New Jersey. He will be remembered as a loving, caring and hardworking husband and father who faithfully provided for his family. He loved cars, biking, woodworking and had a wonderful sense of humor. He has always been an enthusiastic person and will be greatly missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of everyone he has touched.
