Charles John "Chuck" Janechek, 54, of Springville died Friday, December 14, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital of melanoma cancer. Funeral Mass: 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday from 4PM to 7PM. The Rev. Nils Hernandez will officiate.
Surviving in addition to his wife Debra are four sons, Michael Janechek, Matthew Janechek, Nathan Janechek and Nicholas Janechek all of Springville; and a sister, Mary Gent Patrick of Keota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother, James.
Chuck was born October 11, 1953 in Cedar Rapids the son of Linus and Lillian Zak Janechek. He married Debra Tiernan on August 18, 1979 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Chuck attended Regis High School and graduated in 1971. He then graduated from Iowa State University in 1975 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He started work in 1975 at Rockwell Collins as a Technical Writer and was employed there until the time of his death.
