Francis M. "Frank" Lillis, 61, of 1645 A. Ave. in Marion died Sat. Oct. 6, 2007 at his home of esophageal cancer. Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM on Wed. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion where there will be a luncheon immediately following. Rev. Phillip Schmitt will officiate. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at 1:30 PM on Wed. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday where there will be a vigil service at 6:00 PM. Friends may also call after 9:30 AM on Wed. at the Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pat. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Christine Lillis of Palm Desert, CA., nieces Leslie Stephen Hamilton of Walla Walla, WA., and Leigh Michael Lee of Mundelein, IL., three brothers-in-law, John Sue Scally of Rock Island, IL., Joe Scally of Lawler and Mark Scally of Minneapolis, MN., 2 aunts, Marge Bill Travis and Magdalene Clarence Wade of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by Jeanne Keith Scally Carden of Anaheim, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gerry and Emmet.
Frank was born on Oct. 4, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leo and Clare Spratt Lillis. He Graduated from LaSalle High School, Coe College and was employed by the Chicago Northwestern/ Union Pacific Railroad for 29 years. He married Patricia A. Scally on Feb. 19, 1982 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Frank served 14 months in the infantry in Vietnam.
