Memorial

Harrietta James, 90, formerly of Center Point, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the Hiawatha Care Center due to a long illness. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4PM to 7PM. Funeral services will begin at 11AM on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with burial to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Harrietta James is survived by her daughter; Beverly Busenbark Don of Marion, her son; William James Lillie of Center Point, sister; Edna Houston of Cedar Rapids, brother; Richard Miner of Austin, Texas, seven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, cousin; Bob Douglas of San Francisco, California, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Harry Miner and Zura Douglas Miner, her husband; Paul James, an infant daughter; Patsy Joann James, and three sisters; Dorothy Jeffords, Olive James, and Jackie Jank.

Harrietta Marie Miner was born on December 9, 1916 in Cedar Rapids. She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Marion. Harrietta married Paul James on October 4, 1934 in Cedar Rapids. To this union three children were born. Harrietta worked at Rockwell Collins from 1951 to 1981. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling. She was a life long member of the United Methodist Church of Center Point. Harrietta valued the time she spent being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Memorial contributions are to be directed to the United Methodist Church of Center Point.
