Charles J."Chuck" Engler, 81, of 1115 Regent St. NE. died Friday April 27, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10 AM on Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Rev. Donald Klein will offciaite. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery where there will also be military rites. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday.

Survivors include four sons, Mike Diane of Council Bluffs, Mark and Tom both of Des Moines and Greg Terri of North Carolina; two daughters, Terry Engler of Chicago, Illinois, and Lesley Bill Carlson of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Bill Edna of Janesville, Wisconsin and a sister, Jean Thompson of Downers Grove, Illinois. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Chuck, was born on May 3, 1925 in Kimball, Minnesota, the son of Joseph and Colletta Leytem Engler. He married Georgina Mark on May 4, 1946 in Cedar Rapids. Chuck was the vice president at Hupp Electric Motors and had been employed there for over 50 years. He was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and proudly served in the Navy during WWII. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society in Chuck's name. Military rites by American Legion Hanford Post NO.5
