Eugene L. Jiroutek, 69, of 1700 Ellis Blvd. NW. died Monday March 26, 2007 at his home after a short illness. Services at 9:00 AM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Wed.
Survivors include a son Robert and his wife Krista of Des Moines, a daughter, Cynthia Dunlop and her husband, Steve of Nerstrand, MN. and his mother, Lillian Jiroutek of Northfield, MN. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Claire, Emma and Rachel Jiroutek, Lily, Julia and Grace Dunlop. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert and a brother, Vernon.
Gene was born on Feb. 20, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Albert and Lillian Jiroutek. Gene worked at Quaker Oats and retired from there after many years of service. He proudly served in the army and enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. A memorial fund has been established in Gene's name.
