Kenneth Wesley Eden, 80, of Cedar Rapids went to be with the Lord on March 14, 2007 at St. Lukes Hospital following a long illness. Services: 11:00 A.M. Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by The Rev. Gary Dobbins and The Rev. Jack Kendall of Sharon United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends from 2PM to 4PM on Sunday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Dora, daughter Rona and husband Ralph Gilbert and son Kenneth Michael and wife Janet Eden all of Cedar Rapids, 3 grandchildren, his sister Shirley Wright of Wyoming, Iowa, sister in-law Ruth Eden of Gulfport, Mississippi and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Myrtle Eden, his brother Raymond Eden and his sisters Wilna Becicka and Helen Christianson.

Kenneth was born October 10, 1926, the son of Clem and Myrtle Wilson Eden in Wellman, Iowa. He was a 1945 graduate of McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids. He married Dora Mae Peal on June 20, 1953. He worked at McKesson Chemical and Drugs for 38 years as a warehouse superintendent in shipping and receiving, retiring in 1986. His passions in life besides his family, was woodworking, gardening, feeding the birds and going mushroom hunting. He was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church. He was also a very special gentleman who will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Justice, Dr. Painter, Dr. Pruchno and the staff at St. Lukes Intensive Care Unit for the loving care he received in his final days.

In memory of Kenneth, a memorial fund has been established and can be sent to Sharon United Methodist Church.
