Memorial

Lillian J. Musel Nemec, 99, of Cedar Rapids, died February 8, 2007 at her daughter Linda's home, following a brief illness. Services 9 AM Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Carol Sundberg of St. Paul's United Methodist Church will officiate. Friends may call at the chapel after 8 AM on Saturday. Private Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include daughters Marilyn Pansegrau of Cedar Rapids, Linda Crandall and husband Cliff of Cedar Rapids, and Arlene Cerveny and husband Virgil also of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are grandchildren Alan Paula Pansegrau, Dan Cerveny both of Cedar Rapids, Brian Jennifer Wanat Cerveny of Buffalo Grove, IL as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Stanley A. Nemec on October 19, 2004, her parents, brothers Floyd, Fred Jr., and Joe, and sister Dorothy.

Lillian Josephine Musel Nemec was born December 14, 1907 in Chelsea, Iowa the beloved daughter of Fred and Mary Dvorak Musel. She was united in marriage to Stanley A. Nemec on July 22, 1936 in Cedar Rapids. She was employed for 10 years at Northwestern Bell and later left to care for her family. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, and the African Violet Society. For many years she and husband Stanley sold their violets at the City Farmers Market. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing Yahtzee and Pinochle.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Lillian's family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Mercy, especially nurse Barbara Peterson.
