Dorothy Jeanette Odean, 83, 2501 Hwy 13, Marion died Thursday, February 1, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Friends may call on Sunday from 1PM to 4PM. The Rev. Rick Gail of First Assembly of God Church will officiate.
Surviving are two sons, Carl Odean Pat of Marion and Brian Odean Robin of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Judy Stoddard George of Marion, Sheryl Heiden of Cedar Rapids and Linda Cook Dave of Beach, ND; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a brother, Frank Phyllis Etzel of Garden City, MI; two sisters, Barbara Bob Sabo of Cedar Rapids and Reta Hunte Bob of Springville; and a daughter-in-law, Marcie Odean-Weber of Hiawatha.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl; a son, Alan Odean; a grandson, CJ Odean; and a sister, Mildred Harford.
Dorothy was born November 18, 1923 in Anamosa the daughter of Frank and Lily McGowen Etzel. She married Carl S. Odean on October 26, 1941 in Michigan. She loved to play Bingo, was always on the go and she loved spending time with her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established.
