Virginia Keeney Ellis, 66, of 2717 Eastern Ave NE, died Thursday, November 16, 2006, at her brother's home in Cedar Rapids following a long illness. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Alfred Kaupins of St. Marks Faith and Life Center will officiate. Friends may register at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Saturday.
Surviving to honor her memory are her son Roy Ellis and wife Lisa of Arizona, two grandchildren Samuel and Lindsay Ellis, two brothers Jerry Keeney of Cedar Rapids, and Douglas Keeney and wife Nancy of Center Point, Iowa, and five nephews Dr. Brad Keeney and wife Terri of Greeley, Colorado, Robb Keeney and wife Sherri of Cedar Rapids, Scott Keeney of Marion, Jason Keeney, and Benjamin Keeney both of Center Point, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Virginia was born July 4, 1940 in Cedar Rapids to M. Dee and Sylvia Schmidt Keeney. She had been employed by Standard Appliance, Suburban Lumber, and Per Mar Security at Aegon. She was a member of St. Mark's Faith and Life Center. She attended Franklin High School and was in the first graduating class at Washington High School. She enjoyed sports, music, and being with family and friends.
Virginia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
