Michael G. O'Donnell, 70, of 2191 Blake Blvd. S.E., died Friday at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at Turner Chapel East by Revs. Glenn Bender and Glenn Hunt officiating. Private family interment: Oak Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Linda, daughter, Ann Douglas Ilten of Nashville, Tennessee, and son, Michael Jr. Tiffany O'Donnell of Cedar Rapids, two granddaughters, Devon and Luciana O'Donnell of Cedar Rapids, two stepsons, Christopher Susan Connington of Long Grove, Illinois, and Craig Darcy Connington of Cary, Illinois, 6 step-grandchildren, and his mother, Mrs. Harry O'Donnell of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry O'Donnell and first wife Jean who died in 1989.

Mr. O'Donnell was born July 28, 1936 in Cedar Rapids to Harry and Glenys Barnes O'Donnell and was married to Linda on September 21, 1991 in Cedar Rapids. He attended Johnson Grade School, Franklin High School and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1958 where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and the Iowa golf team. Upon graduation, he was employed by Johnson Gas Appliance Co. in Cedar Rapids, where he became vice president, secretary/treasurer and owner.

He was a director of Guaranty Bank & Trust Company, a founder of Keystone Ski Resort, Keystone, Colorado and owner of Kelty Radiator Company. Mike was a member of the University of Iowa President's Club and was past president of the Cedar Rapids Country Club, where he won the Cedar Rapids Country Club Men's Golf Championship 3 times. Mr. O'Donnell also won the Gazette City Amateur Golf Tournament in 1957 and 1959. He was extremely proud to have shot an even par 72 on the Pebble Beach golf course.
