June "Elaine" Zumwalt, 86, formerly of 3229 Wilson Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, died July 28, 2006 in Keystone Care Center.. Services 3 PM Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Dr. Leonard Ranson will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 6 PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, with a prayer service beginning at 5 PM. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include nephew Michael Schmitz and wife Gail of Cedar Rapids, nieces Donna McGurk and husband Larry of Walford and Marie Schulte and husband Kurt of Fairfax, great nieces and nephews Cody Schmitz, Mellany and Marley McGurk, and Zachary and Alaina Schulte. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and longtime roommate Dickie Staecker.

June Elaine Zumwalt was born March 26, 1920 in Grinell the daughter of Elmer and Louise Zumwalt. She was employed at Amana Refrigeration in production for 25 years, retiring in 1983. As an adult Aunt Elaine was adopted into the Staecker family, and became our aunt not by blood but through love
