Jack R. VanderWeg

I considered Jack and Donna my Cedar Rapids aunt and uncle since all my family lived in Ky. Jack was always so friendly and always made you feel special. I missed them so when they moved to Colorado but was happy that they could spend the time with the grandchildren and their girls. He always called me kid and when I lost Steve he knew how I felt because he lost the love of his life also. I know he is with God and they are having a wonderful welcoming for such a great soul. God does give us a backpack of Grace and may His Grace be with you. Love, Judy McDowell

My wife and I have wonderful memories of Jack. His always upbeat welcome when you walked into his department at Armstrong's. His impecable taste and service in helping to select just the right suit & accessories couldn't be beat. We had no idea that he was living only 40 miles from us here in Colorado. I'm sure he will be deeply missed. Please accept our deepest love and sympathy. Don & Arlene McFarlane

Jack and I graduated from the Dale Carnegie course in 1954. I visited him at Armstrong's and in his home at least once and probably met his daughters. I was chaplain of Mount Mercy College from 1954 to 1969. I always enjoyed his humor and attitude. I have been remembering him in my prayers. God bless you all. Edgar Kurt

Jack helped us for many years at Armstrongs. I grew up in Postville and we had that in common. He was the best at what he did. We miss him here in Cedar Rapids.

Jack, I guess you and St. Peter are chuckling at the clothes I John wear. You kept me straight on the dress. I miss you in many ways. We still buy our camping supplies at Kettelsons, your spirit is still there. Shucks, You already know that why do I speak. Lovely Lane continues to be blessed by your spirit. Thanks for your light that brightly shines here each day. J&D
