I did not know Mary Ann, but my eleven year old granddaughter, Margaret Granata did. Simply put, Margaret adored her and is mourning her loss. They shared a love of books and a passion for reading. Margaret was entering middle school next year and looked forward to more time with Mrs. Yedlik. She will never forget her, and the things Margaret has told me about Mary Ann, make me wish I had known her. She will be greatly missed by my granddaughter and many others.

Our daughter, Kylie, has had Mrs. Yedlik as her librarian from K-3rd grade. Kylie got to know her very well and adored her. Kylie wants you to know "Mrs. Yedlik was the best librarian ever. She always told us about her trips and shared things she got with us. She is the only librarian I have ever had." Mrs. Yedlik was with Kylie at Grant and moved over to Wilson when Kylie went there in 2nd grade. Kylie started off her schooling hating to read and just finished up 3rd grade loving books. She now reads to her little brother each night. Mrs. Yedlik had a great impact on those she met. She will be missed.

Dear Yedlik Family, It has been my pleasure to help take care of Mary Ann for 12 years now as a nurse for her family doctor. She was such a wonderful patient. She always asked about my children having seen me through 2 pregnancies and how they were doing. We would talk about her travels and her children and whatever else had happened to either of us since the last time she was in. She was truely an awesome person and will be missed terribly by myself and many others. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Sincerely, Jenny Fredrickson

My name is Margaret Granata. I met Mrs. Mary Ann Yedlik at Grant school. She always helped me with books, and we talked ALL the time about them and what books we liked or had recently read. When she came to Wilson, I was OVERJOYED! I knew who she was, so it made me happy that I got to see her again. She said I was one of her favorite students, and she was one of MY favorite teachers. She ordered books all the way from Georgia for me! She would let me keep books I wanted until I had the money to pay for them. Whenever we had to bring books up to the library during school, I would shoot my hand up in the air so I could go up JUST to talk to her! I will miss her SO MUCH. I will always remember her smile and kindness. My prayers are with her family at this time of loss.

Dear Yedlik Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how difficult this time can be, as I have just lost someone close to me recently. Mary Ann was very sweet, caring person. I remember one time when she came into the doctor's office for an appointment she brought some children's books to keep out in the waiting room. She will be deeply missed.

Joe, Andy, & Katy - I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your wife and mom. I have so many fond memories of her when Katy & I were in high school seems like yesterday. From chatting for hours around the kitchen table to baking a variety of cookies and eating macaroni & cheese with tuna if I remember correctly, this was one of Mary Ann's specialties they are all wonderful memories! Even the last time I saw her in TJ Maxx with Katy, I was reminded again how very much she adores both of her children. Always remember the love she had for each of you, and will continue to have as she shines down on you. I will continue to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. My deepest sympathy,

To the Yedlik Family, Mary Ann was my cousin on her mother's side. I remember as a child after going to the dentist, Dr. Smith, in Vinton, Iowa, my mother and I would often stop by Mary Ann's house to visit. Mary Ann was in high school at the time. I was younger and really enjoyed and remember those visits. Later as a teacher in Walker, Iowa, I remember seeing Mary Ann again. Katy was a student at the Walker Elementary School. Quite afew years have passed since then. I learned of Mary Ann's passing from Ginger Burke who taught with me at Walker Elementary School. I was so sad to learn that Mary Ann is no longer with us. I want to extend my condolences to the Yedlik family. Mary Ann will be missed by her family and many friends.
