Emilie Ellen Johnson, 79, of Stratford, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, May 3, 2006, in the Stratford Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness. Services at 2 PM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 1 PM on Saturday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include two sons Randy Johnson and wife Janice, and Sidney "Scott" Johnson and wife Stephanie all of Cedar Rapids, two sisters Glea Burkholder and husband Richard of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and Dee Neff of Webster City, Iowa, seven step grandchildren, Natasha, Stephen, Stephanie, Tucker, Sawyer, Jessica, and Johnny, and one step great-granddaughter Hailey. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Emilie was born March 24, 1927 in Webster City, Iowa, to Marion and Bessie Mix Fisher. Emilie married Glenn Elmo Johnson on December 9, 1945 in Webster City, Iowa. He died December 24, 2001. Emilie was a homemaker. She also worked in food service at Kenwood schools. She enjoyed flower gardening, birds, boating, dancing, and music. Emilie was a caring mother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
