Russell Thayer Owens

I was sorry to see Russ's obituary in today's Gazette. I only knew him in his last days, but I'm sure there was much more to the man than just the nice guy that I saw. My best wishes to you as you adjust to this big change in your lives. If you have any questions about how to get some of his blindness equipment returned to its rightful owners, please call me at 365-9111. I can pick it up at a mutually agreeable time. To the Owens Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your husband, father and grandfather and past neighbor. Lisa was a classmate and when we moved in to your neighborhood I'll never forget the great chocolate cake that I believe Jennifer made to welcome us. We still get to see the abundant Owens family gatherings that our "new neighbors" Lori and Phil have-but the street doesn't seem quite as full and busy without Pat and Russ!!!: Lori and Phil-you have been such good neighbors/friends and our sympathy goes out to you. I received a stepping stone when my mom died 3 months ago that says, "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." There is so much truth in this for me-I hope it brings you peace during this difficult time. In friendship, Sheila and Craig Stephan

Dear Mrs. Owens and Tina, I am very sorry that I was unable to attend the funeral, but I just wanted to send my condolences your way. I just loved taking care of him when he was in for his heart surgery-he was a very cooperative patient and always had a smile, even though I'm sure he wasn't feeling the greatest. I was a very lucky person!! Now I know where Tina got her great up bringing since, also through my mom Bess, I have also met Mrs. Owens. Please take care. I'm sure that a LOT of people are praying for you all!
