Clair G. Unruh, 76, of 833 Oakland Rd NE, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005, in his home following a short illness. Services at 11 Am Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Ronald Thatcher will officiate. Entombment with military rites in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Monday.
Survivors include his wife Joy, his children Dennis Unruh and wife Cindy of Independence, Kentucky, Joseph Unruh and wife Teresa of Webster, Iowa, Kathleen Miller and fianc? Mike Henry of Cedar Rapids, Robbie Ward and husband Kevin of Belle Plaine, Iowa, Judith Birely and husband George of Anamosa, five step children Teressa and Mark Snyder, Jim and John Kinser, and Mary Henson all of Cedar Rapids, four sisters Naomi Sell of Tipton, Iowa, Delores Trular and Lorraine Rudloff both of Cedar Rapids, and Joyce Miller of Mechanicsville, Iowa, 19 grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Nichole, Nathaniel, Marsha, Chris, Ben, Danielle, Ashley, Eric, Marvin, John, Michael, Jeremy, Colleen, Jessica, Luke, Jacob, and Les, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Maxine, and seven brothers Lawrence, Glen, Ray, Fay, Henry, Clyde, and Robert.
Clair was born August 5, 1929 in Mechanicsville, Iowa, to Louis and Bertha Hudson Unruh. He married Joy Kinser on October 1, 1988, in Cedar Rapids. He was a Truck Driver for Momson Trucking for several years. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He loved to fish, play black jack, and be of service to people. He was a grandpa to all children that knew him.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
