Michael E. Kettering, 65, of Cedar Rapids died Thursday October 11, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Memorial services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 10:00 AM on Tuesday. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Shawn Riley; a brother Danny (Barbara) of Illinois, three nieces Denise (Todd), Dannette (Trent), Dana and their families, as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Michael was born on May 10. 1953 in East Moline, Illinois the son of Edwin and Addie Aschbach Kettering. He married Shawn E. Riley on December 31, 1999 in Cedar Rapids.
Mike was in industrial equipment sales for over 40 years retiring in 2016. He was a member of ABATE of Iowa, the N.R.A. and several pool leagues.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, shooting, trips to Las Vegas with Shawn, and time spent with his family and many friends.
Mike will forever be remembered as a wonderful son, brother, husband, and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
