Memorial
David H. Rollie, 80, of Tyler, Texas, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, after a short illness.
Visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11 a.m.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Margaret Rollie; an older sister, Joyce Kellner; a younger sister, Susan Santarell and his first wife, Johanna Christopherson.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Tjepkes); daughter, Lynn Rollie; son, Jeffrey Rollie; grandson, Robert Mashek; step-daughter, Brandi (Jeff) Daves and two step-grandchildren, Seth Felstead and Reiny Felstead.
He was born on April 8, 1938 in Rochester, Minnesota. He joined the Navy in 1953. On April 11, 1964 he married his first wife, Johanna (Christopherson). After retiring from the Navy in 1976 he moved to Cedar Rapids and worked for the United States Post Office starting in 1977 and retiring in 1995. He married his second wife on November 26, 1988. David moved to Tyler, Texas in 2013.
He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed refinishing furniture and fixing things. He was very proud of his volunteer work of driving the van for the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans).
