Roy Lester Ewen, 95, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Meth-Wick Community in Cedar Rapids. Private Family Graveside: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Roy was born May 17, 1922, the only child of Richard and Florence (Hakeman) in Alburnett. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Roy graduated from Cedar Rapids Business College. On August 11, 1942, he was married to Corda Harris. She passed away in 2015.
From 1946 to 1987, Roy was employed with United Fire & Casualty Co. where he held a series of responsible positions, and retired as Vice President. Roy enjoyed many hobbies including: woodworking, traveling, photography, and stamp collecting.
Survivors include his three daughters, Carol (Paul) Jecklin of Fairhope, AL, Sherry (William) Byrd of Dubuque, Nancy (Stephen) Visio of Honolulu, HI; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
