James R. Kazimour II, 61, of Cedar Rapids, died on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, after a courageous battle with heart disease. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Private family service will be held later.
James was born in Cedar Rapids on December 25, 1956 to Jim and Jean Kazimour. He graduated from LaSalle High School and Mt. Mercy College, and began a career at Rockwell Collins as a financial analyst. He had the opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia, and do some world traveling. He retired from Rockwell in 2014 due to heart disease. On August 14, 2009 he married Philip Stechcon in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He is preceded in death by an infant brother, James Michael.
Survivors are his parents Jim and Jean Kazimour, sisters Mary, and Ann (John), brothers David (Janelle) and Steven (Susie), and numerous nieces, and nephews, and his spouse, Philip Stechcon. He is also survived by 3 felines, Dusty, Calvin, and Toby.

The family would like to extend our sincere appreciate to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic, Physicians and nursing staff for their excellent care and compassion, for James since his diagnosis with heart disease in 2013. Also to his healthcare team in Cedar Rapids, and many family members, and friends who have provided support since his diagnosis.
