James William Robinson, 59, of 1112 Harold Drive SE, died Wednesday February 7, 2018 in Manor Care following a long illness. Memorial Services: 3:00 p.m. Monday February 12, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Pastor Billy Joe Franklin.
Survivors include his wife, Pattine Robinson, his daughters, Malinda Robinson of Cedar Rapids and Kristin Robinson of Marion, step-son, Rashad (Kierra) Pippen of Jacksonville, Arkansas, his siblings; Tami Robinson, George (Linda) Robinson both of Cedar Rapids, Frank (Rita) Robinson of Marion Jerry Robinson, Kenny (Debbie) Robinson and Gary (Michelle) Robinson all of Cedar Rapids, and 7 grandchildren, and a host of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Pearl Ray Robinson, sister, Laura Jean Miller and many aunts and uncles.
James was born July 1, 1958 in Attwood, Tennessee. He married Pattine Pippen on November 28, 1998 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. James was a transportation supervisor for the City of Cedar Rapids. He was a Mason, airplane pilot and Realtor. James enjoyed fishing, camping, horse riding and traveling. He wrote and published two books and cherished the time spent with his family, friends and especially the grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends
