Memorial
Geraldine K. Blazek, 78 of Cedar Rapids died Friday August 17, 2018 at Cottage Grove Place. Memorial services at 11:00 AM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband Robert, three daughters, Debra (Gary) Cooper of Marion; La Donna (Jim) Hackman of Solon; and Colette (Todd) Miller of Cedar Rapids; two sons Jason (Kelly) of Mt. Vernon and Jeffrey of Marion. She is also survived by several half brothers and sisters; ten grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and great grandson Ben Pham.
Geraldine was born on January 6, 1940 in Mt. Auburn the daughter of William and Charlotte Cole Turner. She married Robert W. Blazek on May 31, 1958 in Cedar Rapids.
Geraldine worked at Rockwell-Collins for forty years retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Geraldine enjoyed crocheting, sewing, bible study, cooking and especially the time spent with her beloved family. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
