Mary Louise Grimm, 79, of Marion, passed away on November 1, 2017 at the Emery Place Assisted Living & Memory Care in Robins, Iowa.  Her husband, Keith Grimm preceded her in death in 2011.  A Celebration of Keith and Mary’s Life will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Private family graveside services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Surviving are her; children, Michael Grimm and wife Brenda of Cedar Rapids; Brian Grimm and wife Mi Sun of Marion; and Julia Hawley and husband Bradley of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Brandon, Bryce, Broghan (Meagan), Brayden and Brett; her siblings, Robert Tischer, LaWanna Ottaway; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Keith Grimm, and siblings, Carol Robertson, Bill Tischer, JoAnne Kelly and infant sister Rosemary. 

Mary Louise Grimm was born October 17, 1938 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Nelson) Tischer.  Mary attended and graduated from Marion High School.  She was united in marriage to Keith Grimm on February 4, 1961 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion.  Mary was retired from the Linn Mar School District where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Superintendent for 30 years.  Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She loved to read, shop and travel, especially her trip to Europe. Mary’s greatest enjoyment was time spent with family, especially her 5 beloved grandsons.  She was a loving wife, devoted mother, caring sister and beloved grandmother who will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank all the residents and staff from the Emery Place for their compassion and support as well as Hospice of Mercy nurses, staff and volunteers for the tender care given to Mary.
