Ormaline A. Kemble, 93, of Marshalltown, died Monday March 13, 2017 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM Thursday, March 16, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. A visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel with a Rosary Service beginning at 4:30. Burial: Rock Island National Cemetery.

Ormaline was born July 27, 1923, the daughter of Joseph X and Cecelia (Mirr) Wilhelm, in Humphrey Nebraska. She attended Saint Anthony College of Nursing and graduated in 1945. Ormaline was married to Leonard Kay Kemble, Jr. on March 13, 1945. She began working at Saint Anthony Hospital until 1957. From there, Ormaline moved to Cedar Rapids where she worked at Mercy Medical Center until her retirement in 1985. Some of her many hobbies included ceramics, Red Hat Society, and playing Bingo.

Survivors include her five children, Harriett (Lennie) Marx, Marilyn (Pat) Sears, Pamela (David) Ruemmele, Elizabeth (Wesley) Drahozal, Steven (Becky) Kemble; twelve grandchildren, Kari, Amie, Terri, Ben, Missy, Jamie, Stephanie, Amanda, Nick, Angelea, Casey, Derek; thirty great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren, with one on the way; seven nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Jack Stoedter. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Joann; and brother, Bud. 

Memorials may be directed to the Iowa Veterans Home or to the family for charitable donations.
