Linda R. Tronvold, 75, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday March 11, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Services at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday. Per Linda’s request the casket will be closed.

Survivors include a daughter Amy (Allan) Schuttloffel, and a son Jeffrey (Tammy) Tronvold all of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Racheal, Allyson, Allana, Michael, Christopher, Carissa and by her dog Charlie. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda was born on February 18, 1942 in Sioux City the daughter of Raynor and Vivian Birdsall. She graduated from East High School in Sioux City and attended Morningside College. Linda married Carlton Tronvold on December 9, 1961 in Sioux City. They were later divorced.

Linda worked at the Des Moines State House as an administrative assistant for several years. She later was employed at C.M.F. &Z. Ad Agency from 1982 until 1994 as an art coordinator. Linda also was a wedding coordinator, interior decorator and did floral design. 

Linda was a member of First Lutheran Church, Junior League, the Jaycees, several local bridge and coffee groups, and a Brownie Leader. She did volunteer work for the Cedar Rapids Symphony and the Cedar Rapids Art Museum.

Linda was a very gifted artist, and had a great love of all animals. She did illustrations for several local magazines, cookbooks as well as write poetry. Linda was a wonderful, mother, grandmother, and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
