Paul Robert Foster was born on May 30, 1975 to Robert and Patricia Knoke Foster in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He attended St. Matthew’s School and graduated from Washington High School in 1993.  Paul attended Kirkwood College for one year.  He was employed at Quaker Oats for many years.  He was united in marriage to Tammy Byvank on July 3, 2016 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Paul enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals’ baseball games, Hawkeye Football and Basketball games.  He would travel anywhere to see a good concert and to visit museums.  Paul always had a love for his fish and enjoyed watching the TV show, “Tanked”.  He also loved playing with his cats, Frank and Stryker.  He never did anything half way and was a very adventurous man which involved him white water rafting down the Snake River, taking multiple trips in a hot air balloon, and helicopter rides.  He enjoyed reading Stephen King books and watching the Star Wars Trilogy.

He will always be remembered for his ability to debate anything about politics.  Paul will also be remembered as a hardworking, friendly, and very thoughtful man and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Byvank; children, Allison Rae Foster of Marion and Lillie Skalka of Philadelphia, step-sons, Thomas and David Byvank both of Marion; mother, Patricia Knoke Foster of Cedar Rapids; sister, Laura Foster of Des Moines; special uncle, Rol Knoke of South Carolina; former wife, Lori Foster of Marion; one niece and nephew; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A special thank you to the staff at both the ICU units at Mercy Medical Center and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for their wonderful and special care shown to Paul and his family.
