Elbert L. McMickle, 88, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday June 24, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. Services at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after Noon on Wednesday. Entombment with military rites at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; two sons, David (Cindy) and Patrick (Sharon) all of Cedar Rapids and a daughter Pamela (Dana) Serovy of Marion. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Elbert was born on September 17, 1928 in North English the son of John and Louie   Wymore McMickle. He married Phyllis L. Fynbu on July 6, 1950 in Anamosa. 

Elbert was a rail road clerk for the Milwaukee Rail Road for over 40 years, retiring in 1988. He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the Destroyer U.S Damato.

Elbert enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, and especially the time he spent with his beloved family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
