Barbara Louise Martens, 73, of Cedar Rapids died Friday June 23, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center from complications following an accidental fall at her home. Graveside services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters Molly (Brian) Synnott of Briggsville, Wisconsin; Amy (Mike) Efeney of Rockwall, Texas; a son Brian (Laura) of Wausau, Wisconsin; and a sister Susan Danne of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ann, Jacob, Carlee, and Trey. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Barbara was born on March 26, 1944 in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Lillian Baldwin Strnad. Barbara had an extensive career at Mercy Medical Center and retired after more than 40 years of service.
Barbara was a member of the Quota Club International. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and playing the piano. Her greatest joy however was the time spent with her beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Lions Club.
