Marjorie Lenore Baker, 73, of Marion, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital Hospice Center, surrounded by family. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, July 7, 2017 at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Private Family Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Marge was born July 30, 1943, the daughter of Gordon and Evelyn (Lange) Ramsdell, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She attended St. Cloud State University in MN. On May 22, 1965, she was married to Larry Lee Baker. He passed away in 2010. Marge enjoyed many hobbies including; reading, traveling, and watching all genres of movies. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, and the Junior Woman’s Club, where she and her friends broke off to form the “Rusty Rhododendrons.” Marge worked part time as a Welcome Wagon Lady for several years. Her passion was her family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother, staying home to raise her children. Marge cherished the friendships she made throughout the years and had many lifelong friends. 

Survivors include her two daughters, Anna (Daniel) Smith, Carey (Aaron) Bewyer; four grandchildren, Eadie, Julian, Brendan, Leah; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Gary. 

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Unity Point Hospice, both inpatient and in-home, as well as Synergy Home Care for their excellent care.
