Memorial

Marguerite M. “Peggy” Johnson, 88 of Cedar Rapids died Thursday July 6, 2017 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Memorial services at 11:00 AM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday.

Survivors include a daughter Kathy of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law Ruth Darling and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother Leland Williams, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy was born on December 2, 1928 in Mechanicsville the daughter of Russell and Alwilda Woolison Williams. Shortly after high school she moved to Cedar Rapids to work at Collins Radio, where she remained employed until her retirement in 1985. She married William H. Johnson on September 10, 1954 in Cedar Rapids. William passed away in 2013. Peggy enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, gardening, watching T.V. and especially the time spent with her beloved family.
