Dear Betty, Coleen, Gayle, David, Diane & families, I was shocked to hear of Jerry’s final flight, but after I’d watched videos online of Jerry flying with David & talking about his love of flying & how he never intended to stop, it did seem fitting that he left this world while doing something he was SO passionate about. It’s been so long since I’ve seen him, but he was part of my growing up years, & what I remember most is his love of adventure....he took me up on my first plane flight when I was young, & how can I ever forget all the thrills he gave us at the Fair with those sometimes scary stock car races! (Yes, Kevin, you’re right....he pushed the edge, the envelope of life...) I also knew, later on, that he really cared about Scotch Grove, & about helping others. I think he organized those Memorial Day breakfasts in SG, & I also remember him taking my grandma & other older women out in some kind of van to see various places around, something Gram B greatly enjoyed & looked forward to. He was such a handsome man! So trim & vital-looking even in his 80s! I know you’ll all miss him terribly, & I myself feel like a chunk of my childhood has fallen away, as he was nearly the last of my parents’ generation left in Scotch Grove. I wish I’d known him better (if only I’d been able to come back to Iowa more often...). My heartfelt sympathy to each of you...

It was such a neat experience to enter Cedar Memorial & see the years of fun & family filled with the warmth of the Naylors in pictures. It was easy to see the love & joy in the faces of each of them. They will miss Jerry lots & lots, but wow did he leave a legacy. My sympathy to you, Betty, Coleen, Gayle, David & Diane & all the extended family. Blessings, Betty (Donovan) Dake

I have been close friends with Coleen (Coke) Naylor since elementary school. Jerry and Betty are the most loving, giving couple I know. They provided me with wonderful flying adventures and plenty of giggles. But most of all they they gifted me with Coke, a forever friend. Jerry is flying with the angels and visiting with my dad. Thank you Naylors for showing me what a loving family embraced all they know. And thanks Coke for that hand that pulled me from the river. Love Nancy Adams Regennitter.

My sincere sympathy is extended to Betty, the kids, and the entire family. Jerry always had a smile on his face, a fun story to tell, and a zest for life. I know he will be incredibly missed by all of you. My thoughts and prayers remain with you.

WITH SYMPATHY TO THE NAYLOR FAMILY . KNEW JERRY AND SON THROUGH HAWKEYE DOWNS WHEN SMOKE WILSON WAS RACING DON CAROL MULL

Dear Naylor Family, knowing Jerry in a small capacity has been very fulfilling, knowing his involvement in the Shrine spanning many years. The work Jerry did in the Shrine and for the Shining is a great legacy for anyone to contribute. Jerry's help and leadership in the Flying Fez and his support of Shriners hospitals, should make all Shrines want to contribute more. I'm sorry that I will be unable to attend Jerry's visitation or service as I am out of town on vacation, but my thoughts and prayers are with the family and may God help to heal a gaping wound for all, with our loss of Jerry. My best to the family, Linc Aldershof

What a character this loving man was. He had fun with life always pushing the edge of what was possible ,be it flying, skiing, racing, or helping family or those disadvantaged. He had many stories to share that came from his vast set of experiences from a very full life such that I believe a book could be written if we only had them all. If only we could all live life with such adventure as he did. He embraced challenge like few others and did it his way right to his last breath. Celebrating and enjoying what opportunities life had to offer was what Jerry meant to a lot us and he will forever be remembered and cherished!

We are sad to hear. Of Jerry's passing. He was always a. Friend with a happy message or a funny joke. Bless all his Family. Love the Crocker's
