Sharon L. Koch, 67 of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday August 16, 2017 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM on Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Reasoner will officiate.  Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday where there will be a vigil service at 2:00 PM.

Survivors include her husband John, two daughters, Sherri and Kristina Koch and a son David (Kelly) all of Cedar Rapids; a brother Lloyd McGrath of Eldridge; three sisters Shirley (Merlin) Scheller of Aurora,, Illinois, Rosemary (Tom) Remakel of Dubuque and Sue (Dave)  Leifker of Poplar Grove, Illinois. She is also survived buy two grandchildren Abby and Ryan Koch both of Cedar Rapids and close family friends Kelly, Brianna and Jaxon Hopp. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Andy McGrath.

Sharon was born on October 13, 1949 in Dubuque the daughter of Thomas and Frances Bahl McGrath, She graduated from the Academy of the Visitation in Dubuque in 1967 and on July 5, 1969 was united in marriage to John F. Koch.

She spent her life caring for children. When her own children were grown she worked with infants and toddlers several years and then provided in home care.

Sharon was a faithful member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She enjoyed bingo, coloring and especially the time spent with her friends and beloved family. Sharon was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and sister whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial donations may be given to the Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha in Sharon’s name.
