Memorial

Loving wife Lois Wood, 89, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2017 in their home.  Her loving husband Bill Wood, 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in their home. A private family graveside service will be held for both Lois, and Bill. 
 
They are survived by three daughters, Sharon (Gary) Clemenson, of Spokane, WA, Sandy (Roy) Jordan, Lorie Smith, both of Marion, also by 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren. Lois was the last surviving member of the Louis and Ada Ralston family. Bill is survived by his two siblings, sister Carol Marlene “Marge” Throckmorton and brother Dwain Robert “Bob” Wood. 
 
A special thanks and deep appreciation to Dr. Timothy Sagers, Bill and Lois’ physician for his dedication and love to them over the years along with the Hospice of Mercy medical team and the numerous loving care givers, all of whom provided daily support for the final months allowing our parents to remain in their home until the end of their journeys.  We'd also like to say special thanks to Pastor Dan Nelson of Gospel Light Baptist Church and Chaplain Joseph Kane of Mercy Hospice, for their compassionate, personable caring spirits shared with mom and dad during visits.  

In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully requested that any memorial contributions be made to the Freedom Foundation in Cedar Rapids.
