It took me awhile to digest the fact that I won't be seeing Pete anymore, or receiving an email from him telling me how great the Website looks. If I hadn't been made to feel so welcome by a couple of old-timers, Pete and Bob Lea, I probably wouldn't have gotten so involved with the Association, for 14 years now. Fair winds and following seas, my friend.............Dennis

I am so sorry to hear of Petes passing. He helped me when I had the USS Hector reuion and guided me thru it. I have a letter he sent that really made the reunion mean something to me. I could tell he was suffering in San Antonia. But being the tough old bird he was he tried to be Navy strong. Don

I'm so sorry to hear of your father's passing. He sounded like a wonderful man. Craig please give my condolences to Jennie and your family. I'm so glad you and Andy have remained such close friends. Love and prayers to you.

To the Family of Pete Pilgrim, my prayers and thoughts are with you all at this sad time! I think I first met Pete when we attended the Kissimmee Reunion. I don't recall him in Nashville, Tenn. years before that, but think that was just a bunch of Navy buddies getting together. Enjoyed seeing him in his Navy Uniform at all the other Reunions. A very nice man that will be sorely missed!! "Sail on Pete"!

Pete changed thousands of lives for the better in his career, mine was one as a student of his many years ago at Kirkwood, I had the good experience to speak with him just a few months ago as he was leaving his Drs. office, wearing his USS Uhlmann hat, and thank him. I look forward to seeing him again when I get home where he has gone ahead of us. Lord bless you and keep you and all who are in your life.

From the USS Hector Association, which Pete belonged, we will miss him. He, and Bob Lea, were the ones responsible for our association's growth and direction. He was a particular inspiration for me. Fair winds... shipmate.

From the deck of the Uss Iowa BB61 in San Pedro Ca. I had many reunions with Pete over the years and he will be truly missed by all his ship mates. He was a very giving and thoughtful man who gave to us many sea stories. Fair winds and smooth seas mate. Bravo Zulu.

Although I lost my best friend I will always keep him in my heart forever. We had 52 years together! He was my Sailor Man! Fair winds & Following Seas !

I had the opportunity to meet Pete when mall walking at Lindale some years ago. When I'd see him I would walk and talk with him. We had very nice conversations including Mineral Wells as I also lived in Euless, TX. He's a great person and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

As a old friend of Pete's and Lorie too I wish to express my condolences to family and friends. Our back yards met and on occasion we would have a beer or two. May God be with you all. Love you Pete! Yours truly Jeff
