Timothy (Tim) L. Hendrickson, 59, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday May 22, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital after a hard fought 17 month battle with cancer.
Tim was born October 20, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the son of Frank and Norma Hendrickson. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1974. He married Sandra Sorensen in 1983 in Denver, CO. Tim was employed by Olinger Investment Corporation at the time of his death. He previously worked many years at his own mail contract business in Denver, CO.
Survivors include his mother Norma Hendrickson of Cedar Rapids, sister Heidi (Michael) Probasco of Camdenton, MO, brothers Nick and Tony Silkebakken of CA, and god daughter Stephanie Nelson of Cedar Rapids. Tim treasured his life long friendships with Scott Francik and the Jim Bender family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank in February 2016 and his wife Sandy.
Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday May 26th at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be immediately following the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Erickson officiating.
Special thanks to the inpatient hospice unit at St. Luke's for the loving care and support given to Tim and his family.
