Milbert (Bert) Huber, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday May 16, 2016. His wished were for no services.  Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Interment: Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Eureka, South Dakota.

Bert was born September 8, 1924 to Christ and Katherine (Gab) Huber in Hosmer, South Dakota. He grew up on his parent’s farm and attended rural school. In 1943 he graduated from the Eureka High School. Shortly there after he entered the Army. Service with the 304 Signal operational Battalion attached to the 158 regimental Combat Team Pacific Theatre World War II.  After his return in 1947 he married Erma Ann Lautt form Ashley North Dakota. They moved to Aberdeen South Dakota where he began his employment with Western Union. They later divorced and in 1974 he married Marian Francis Lang from Waterloo, Iowa. They moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where after 40 years of employment with Western Union he retired. At home he enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, his garden/flower beds, antique cars. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Club. 

He is survived by his son, Ronald L. Huber of Ankeny, Iowa, a grandson, Travis Huber of Clinton, Iowa, two sisters; Mrs Marcus (Pearlyn) Reitz of Ankeny, Iowa, Mrs Lloyd (Darleen) Huber-Dilbeck of Beaverton, Oregon, his brother, Mr. Eldon Huber of Pierre, South Dakota, three nieces and six nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
