Paul Walter Moseman Jr. 86, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Scottish Rite Park, Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.  Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Entombment to take place at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.  A memorial service will be held at Scottish Rite Park at a later date.

Paul was born June 1, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Clara Moseman, Sr.  He was united in marriage to Marian A. Kimm on July 6, 1957 in Norway, Iowa.

He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska.  Paul then served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955.

Paul worked as an electrical engineer throughout his professional life, and retired from Honeywell, Kansas City, Missouri.  

Paul was an active volunteer with the Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed amateur radio, painting, traveling, as well as model airplanes and railroads.  He was a talented photographer.     

Paul and Marian moved from Kansas City to Des Moines in February 2014 where they resided at Scottish Rite Park. Throughout their life together, they lived in Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Kansas City, Missouri. 

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years, Marian; daughter Kimberly (Steven)  Lipshutz of Urbandale, Iowa; son James Moseman of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren Andrea and Anthony Moseman of Sudbury, Massachusetts.  He is survived by his sisters Carolyn (Robert) Bauer of Omaha and Marion (Wayne) Reynoldson of Sherman, Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews.    

Paul was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank the Scottish Rite Park staff and Unity Point Hospice for the care and compassion given to Paul during his final weeks.
