Clara Marie Bickel, 81, of Marion, Iowa, died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Linn Manor Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Marion officiated by Rev. Howard Chapman. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment to take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Clara was born June 17, 1934 in Wyoming, Iowa to Fred and Fannie (Riches) Fritz. She was united in marriage to Henry C. Bickel on April 22, 1977 in Marion.
Clara had worked as a bookkeeper throughout her professional life, and retired after working at Carma Lou’s House of Music for ten years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wyoming.
Clara volunteered at Helping Hands Mission Project at First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She had fun playing cards, especially Euchre and Canasta. Clara and Henry looked forward to traveling to Branson, Missouri twice a year for fishing trips. She will be deeply missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years, Henry; thirteen nieces and nephews; and many great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents; sister Helen Wallace; brother Frank Fritz; and great-nephew Faron Michael Fritz.
