Allen L. Liston, 71, of Cedar Rapids died Thursday February 4, 2016 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Monday.

Survivors include his wife Dana, two daughters Carie (Craig) VonSprecken of Cedar Rapids and Cami (Cory) Pierce of Urbana; two brothers Dale (Jan) of Fremont, Nebraska and Lenny of Rochester, Minnesota; brother-in-law, James Lingscheit; sister-in-law, Jolene Lingscheit and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by four grandchildren Shea, Jace, Alex and Gage. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Allen was born on January 8, 1945 in Ireton, Iowa the son of Lloyd and Lillian Westergard Liston. He graduated from West Sioux High School in Hawarden   and later from Western Iowa Technical School in Sioux City.

Allen married Dana S. Lingscheit on June 5, 1966 in Hawarden. He worked at FMC for over 17 years and later was a mechanical engineer at Rockwell – Collins for 19 years retiring in 2003. 

Allen was a faithful member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was an avid Hawkeye Football fan and was a season ticket holder for over 40 years. He enjoyed cars, traveling, taking long walks and especially the time spent with his beloved family and friends. He was a wonderful husband father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Allen’s name.
