Jim was born April 11, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended Iowa State University and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Iowa Electric Power Company before buying Price Electric and Hardware in Marion. He was a lifetime member of Theta Xi fraternity.

He was married to Joan Petty on December 21, 1957. His survivors include his wife Joan; sons, John and David (Cynthia), and daughter Wendy (Derek) Coffman. He had seven grandchildren; Tyler (Melissa) Rosche, Rachel (Carsten) Reinsch, Cayla Rosche, Melody Rosche, Erin Rosche, Trevor Coffman and Malcolm Coffman. He had a beloved great-granddaughter Nora Kate Reinsch and great grandson Wyatt Lane.

He spent many happy hours on the links at Cedar Rapids golf courses.  He enjoyed traveling, and especially loved driving his 1968 Chevrolet Impala convertible in Motor Ioway. He delighted in woodworking, and made beautiful wood fixtures for Kenwood Park, including the small cross for the altar. He loved the great outdoors and passed this passion along to his children.

His parents John and Mabel Rosche; infant daughter, Susan Rosche; sisters Nancy Pierson and Jean Olszewski preceded him in death.

The family suggests memorial contributions to be directed to Kenwood Park United Methodist Church where Jim was a longtime member.

Mercy Hospice provided comfort and gentle care in his final days, and we are so grateful.
