Memorial

Heather E. Strickel, 16, of Marion died Tuesday August 16, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. Memorial services at 3:00 PM on Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 1:00 PM on Sunday.

Survivors include her mother Vanessa and step-father Shawn Connors of Marion; her father Jeff Strickel of Florida and a brother Aaron Winebrenner of Coralville. She is also survived by the Allison, Brenner, Romans, and White families. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents.

Heather was born on January 17, 2000 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Jeff and Vanessa Winebrenner Strickel. She attended LinnMar High School where she was a member of the Anime Club and in middle school was active in the choir. 

In her spare time, she enjoyed babysitting, watching anime, graphic design and was a very talented artist. Heather had an infectious smile that would light up a room.  She especially enjoyed the time spent with her friends and beloved family.
She will be remembered as a wonderful daughter, sister, niece, and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. A memorial fund has been established.
