Dr. Floyd “Bud” Worth, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday April 18, 2016. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Julie Freese will officiate. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his son, F. W. Worth II and wife Nancy of Richardson, Texas, his grandsons; Daniel R. Worth of Plano, Texas, and Brian E. Worth of New York, New York.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary B. Worth, his son, John E. Worth and his daughter-in-law, Jeanne M. Worth.

Floyd “Bud” Worth was born April 18, 1924 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Earl and Grace (Willson) Worth. He married Mary B. Beko on December 5, 1944 at Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago, Illinois. Floyd graduated from the University of Iowa and Creighton Dental. He practiced Dentistry in the Cedar Rapids area. Floyd was a member of the Iowa and American Dental Association and Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids. Floyd served in the Navy as a Pharmacist Mate during World War II, or as he referred to it “bedpan patrol”. He enjoyed golf, fishing and almost any outdoor activity, except gardening. In the last year of his life he had the pleasure to enjoy the success of his beloved Hawkeyes in football and basketball.

He was deeply devoted to his wife and children. Although he didn’t necessarily agree with them all the time, they all felt his love. He will be missed.
