Verlien May Rusk, 89, of Marion, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.
Memorial service will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11am at the Chapel of Memories at Cedar Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10am to 11am at the Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Verlien was born May 14, 1926 to James and Mable (Bell) Sigmund in Westchester, IA. She married George D. Rusk, Jr. on September 25, 1948 in Iowa City, IA.
She is survived by her children: Cindy (Bill) Thomas of Anamosa, Ron (Teri) Clarke of Cedar Rapids, Jack (Nancy) Clarke of Castle Rock, Colorado, Sheila (Jack) Miller of Marion, James Rusk of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and George (Pam) Rusk III of Center Point; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Verlien was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George, her parents, two sisters: Eunace Allen and Ruth Clarke, and her great-grandson, Michael Kopp.
